As support to a European space company we are looking for an MED Ground Segment System Engineer for MTG
Activities
Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working onsite as part of the Maintenance and Engineering Division (MED) of the Operations Department. Your tasks will include:
- Analysis of the MTG requirements on the Multi-Mission Elements and contribute to the definition of the design specification for the Multi-Mission Elements;
- Definition of the system architecture and interfaces;
- Performing engineering budgets and analyse impacts of changes;
- Generation of System Design Documents and Interface Control Documents;
- Support to the definition of the AIV approach for the Multi-Mission Elements, including the generation of Test Plan and Test Procedures;
- Participation to MTG project’s reviews (PDR, CDR, etc.);
- Promoting and ensuring the implementation of the maintainability requirements and standards;
- Maintenance of a set of system level design documentation;
- Performing technical analysis of system architecture and specification;
- Coordination of resolution of system technical issues across the different teams;
- Definition of the system testing approach for major evolutions;
- Review of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and configuration change requests, in preparation for the weekly ECP Review Board and daily CRB meetings.
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in a relevant discipline;
- Several years of experience in full development cycle of systems, from the definition of requirements to system design and testing as well as in the maintenance of operational ground systems, preferably for remote sensing spacecrafts;
- Familiarity with System Engineering and AIT experience for the development of major upgrades / new ground systems in a 24/7 operational environment;
- Knowledge of Near-real-time data processing, archive systems and near-real time data dissemination;
- Ability to work independently as well as good communication skills;
- Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset.
