Spacecraft Operations Engineer
Sentinel-3

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing satellite operations and ground
station tracking network services to its users. You will be working onsite as part of the
Sentinel-3 Flight Control Team, supporting the Spacecraft Operations Manager (SOM)
during the pre-launch operations preparation, validation and through the LEOP and
Commissioning phases. Your tasks will include:

• SVT preparation
• Mission Control System Validation
• Mission Planning System and interfaces validation
• Simulator Validation
• Training and Simulations
• Operations Preparation
• LEOP & Commissioning Preparation
• Conduct satellite operations on-line and off-line
• In terms of satellite units, the work will primarily be for the payload subsystems, as well as support as backup in the area of the attitude and orbit control subsystem.
• Participation on the generic ground segment and mission operations tasks, with emphasis on the testing and operations of the Mission Control System including the Mission Planning System and the associated external interfaces
• Being part of the LEOP team and of the on-call engineer pool during flight.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree in a relevant discipline
• Several years of professional experience in spacecraft and/or operational applications
• Knowledge of all spacecraft subsystems
• An understanding of the satellite and ground subsystems listed in the technical description
• Ability to work independently as well as good communication skills
• Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset
