As support to a European space company we are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer/ Software Engineer
Activities
Our customer is a European organisation providing satellite operations and ground station tracking network services to its users. You will be working onsite as part of the XMM-Newton / INTEGRAL Flight Control Team (FCT). Your tasks will include:
- Assist the SOM(s) in the provision of a S/W migration test and validation plan for the migration of the Mission Control System to the new operations platform;
- Define, prepare and execute ground segment validation tests including acceptance tests, system validation tests and ground segment system tests;
- Coordinate with Software Support and S/W subcontractors the implementation of the migration of the Mission Control System;
- Assist the SOM(s) in the compilation of a migration report;
- Participate in regular Flight control team meetings;
- Familiarisation with the current MCS and operations scenario;
- Support to mission operations activities if requested by the SOM(s).
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in engineering, physics or in an equivalent field;
- Several years of professional experience in Mission Control System development and system level validation (preferably S2K based);
- Good knowledge of operations/ ground segment development as well as in testing and validation of software;
- Familiarity with spacecraft subsystem;
- Spacecraft operational experience, ideally both pre and post launch;
- An understanding of ground segment elements, particularly SCOS-2000 based Mission Control Systems and Simulators;
- Ability to work independently as well as good communication skills;
- Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset.
