Job Description

As support to a European space company we are looking for an
EPS Mission Planning Software Engineer

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite
data, images and products for its users. You will be working onsite as part of the LEO
Monitoring & Control Application Team. Your tasks will include:

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance including the investigation of anomalies on the development, maintenance or operational platforms;
  • Generation and analysis of user-driven and maintenance software requirements and following the procurement of the changes with the contractor maintenance test procedures;
  • Installation and maintenance testing of new software releases or patches;
  • Software support to the internal end-users of the application software;
  • Participation to technical, progress and team meetings;
  • Provision of on-call services and software support to operations;
  • Generation and updates of technical documents;
  • Preparation and production of routine reports as necessary;
  • Acting as point of contact with the contractor for technical discussions, review of technical documentation from the contractor, organizing periodical technical meetings with the contractor.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline;
  • Several years of experience with ground segment maintenance including skills in Mission Planning functions specifications as well as in development and operations within a space system;
  • Good knowledge of software development and maintenance life cycle;
  • Good knowledge of software technology including programming languages such as C, C++, Java, JBoss Drools business rule management system, ILOG Views, Eclipse Rich Client Platform, software development for UNIX and MS Windows, UNIX/LINUX operating system usage as well as Version Control Systems;
  • Experience in Documentation and Configuration Management;
  • Ability to work independently as well as good communication skills;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset.
