As support to a European space company we are looking for a
Power Electronics System Engineer

Main tasks and responsibilities

Our customer is a European leading system house, specialised in development and
implementation of high technology solutions for aerospace, science and industry. In
your role as power electronics system engineer you will be responsible for:

• Requirements & architecture analysis at electronic function/electronics board level
• Derivation of power system requirements from satellite mission requirements
• Preparation of subsystem and equipment specifications
• Design analysis (parts stress/worst case/FMECA/radiation/control loop stability)
• Specification of physical implementation of electronics design
• Assessment of EMC performances of the power subsystem, equipment and boards
• Laboratory & prototype testing
• Preparation of test procedures for design characterization and manuf. acceptance
• Test bench specification, board level test execution and test report generation
• Preparation of technical proposals in response to Customer specification
• Definition of needed engineering resources and resource planning
• Technical lead of project engineers in close cooperation with project manager

Skills and experience

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree in Electronics engineering (MSc, power electronics preferred)
• Electronics design & engineering experience in the majority of the following:
  • DC/DC power converter design in classical topologies
  • Equipment to distribute protected supply lines to spacecraft power users
  • Power control units
  • Solar array regulators with different regulation techniques
  • Battery management electronics, battery charge and discharge controllers
  • Motor & actuator driving electronics: stepper/linear/brushless motors, etc.
  • High voltage power electronics, AC distribution, etc.
  • Design of magnetic components
  • EMC analysis, EMC testing
  • Digital design for the TM/TC interfaces of power electronics
  • Analog design for voltage, current and temperature acquisition chains
• Good knowledge on design methodologies for space applications and tools
• Long experience in technical management of electronic equipments and systems
• Team player and good communicator
• Fluency in English is mandatory; German would be a strong asset
