As support to a European space company we are looking for a
Flight Dynamics Application Software Engineer

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite
data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as part of the M&C
applications support team. Your tasks will include:

• Support the maintenance of applications in flight dynamics
• Support of the maintenance of other CF applications. The CF is primarily a distributed client server configuration supporting software configurations for the spacecraft and ground segment monitoring and control system.
• Software development in a Microsoft Windows environment, fixing problems and engineering changes, technical support to the continuous operation of the system, including analysis, investigation and resolution and documentation.
• Maintenance activities: Software development; preventive, corrective and evolutive maintenance, verification/testing, software upgrades as well as definition and management of technical documentation and procedures

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• Significant professional experience in the area of software development in the Flight Dynamics domain
• Skills and experience in software development with the following areas:
• Significant knowledge and experience in the maintenance and development of flight dynamics applications, in a 24/7 operational environment characterised by high availability requirements, and working in a software maintenance and development team in the framework of software projects resulting in deliveries to customers
• Several years of proven life cycle based software development using FORTRAN, C++ and Java, Software development on Windows platforms, using Microsoft Visual C++ IDE, using Version Control Systems, SVN or CVS, using SQL and relational database management systems
• Understanding of operational concepts and experience with configuration management and change control, understanding of the verification and validation process and experience of supporting testing campaigns,
• Experience with upgrading and migrating operating system and software applications
• Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset
