As support to a European space company we are looking for a
Configuration Management Engineer

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite
data, images and products for its users. You will be working onsite as part of the OPS
Configuration Management team. Your tasks will include:

• Creation/modification/deletion and version tracking of HW/SW items and documentation;
• Administer and perform an end-to-end tracking of Engineering Change Requests and Proposals (ECRs, ECPs) as well as Engineering Tasks (ETs);
• Keep up to date the database recording the mapping of SW items onto HW items;
• Prepare and present Release and Environment Baselines as necessary;
• Act as the Secretary for the Change Review Board and Anomaly Review Board meetings;
• Perform Configuration Audits and issue Configuration Status Accounting Reports;
• Prepare and present routine reports as necessary;
• Develop, document and maintain the Configuration Management tool;
• Perform first and second level maintenance of the Configuration Management tool;
• Ensure the proper identification and archiving of software releases;
• Witness and cross-check activities relevant to software installation;
• Provide support to the configuration management of source code and data files.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree in computer science or in an equivalent field;
• Extensive experience in Configuration Management, SW development (in Java or C++) as well as in build, deployment and installation processes on large software-intensive high-availability operational systems;
• Experience with Configuration Management tools as Administrator (such as Dimensions or Clearcase);
• Good communication and team working skills;
• Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset.
