As support to a European space company we are looking for a Configuration Management Engineer
Activities
Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working onsite as part of the OPS Configuration Management team. Your tasks will include:
- Creation/modification/deletion and version tracking of HW/SW items and documentation;
- Administer and perform an end-to-end tracking of Engineering Change Requests and Proposals (ECRs, ECPs) as well as Engineering Tasks (ETs);
- Keep up to date the database recording the mapping of SW items onto HW items;
- Prepare and present Release and Environment Baselines as necessary;
- Act as the Secretary for the Change Review Board and Anomaly Review Board meetings;
- Perform Configuration Audits and issue Configuration Status Accounting Reports;
- Prepare and present routine reports as necessary;
- Develop, document and maintain the Configuration Management tool;
- Perform first and second level maintenance of the Configuration Management tool;
- Ensure the proper identification and archiving of software releases;
- Witness and cross-check activities relevant to software installation;
- Provide support to the configuration management of source code and data files.
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in computer science or in an equivalent field;
- Extensive experience in Configuration Management, SW development (in Java or C++) as well as in build, deployment and installation processes on large software-intensive high-availability operational systems;
- Experience with Configuration Management tools as Administrator (such as Dimensions or Clearcase);
- Good communication and team working skills;
- Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset.
