Job Description

In support to a European space company we are looking for an
AIT Manager

In this position you shall be responsible for the concept and implementation of integration
and test procedures with regard to all optical aspects in one of the large space projects.
Your area of responsibility also includes the definition and procurement of the Optical
Ground Support Equipment (OGSE) for integration and test purposes

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Independent coordination and management of all AIT activities in one of our large space projects with compliance to time schedule and cost requirements from the design phase up until delivery to the customer
  • Detailed AIT planning and team management throughout all activities
  • Support of the Project and System Engineering teams throughout all design phases with regard to AIT relevant aspects, such as the implementation of integration sequences and compilation of test definitions for the systems and their subassemblies
  • Support of the Project and System Engineering teams in the preparation of internal reports and reports to the customer
  • Technical coordination, configuration and timely procurement of the ground support equipment (GSE)
  • Interface coordination between the Engineering disciplines such as Mechanics, Electronics, Optics, Software and Production
  • Preparation and implementation of the standard AIT Boards such as TRR, PTR and TRB, participation in cross-project reviews and representation of the AIT relevant aspects towards the customer
  • Ensure the timely availability of required AIT documentation such as AIT plans, procedures and test reports.

Skills and Experience:

  • University (TU) or polytechnic degree in Engineering, preferably with major focus on Optical Systems
  • Experience as AIT Engineer, Construction Manager for prototype construction or similar practical experience
  • Organised and structured task approach, experience in the planning of task sequences
  • Ideally, experience in the technical management of projects from ESA or the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) in Phase CD
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Competence in managing international teams
  • Fluent in English in reading and writing.
