Job Description

HE Space Operations is a growing international space company. For over 25 years we
have provided our customers with consultancy services in Engineering and Business
Administration.

As support to a European space company we are looking for an
MSG-3 Spacecraft Operation Preparation Engineer

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite
data, images and products for its users. You will be working onsite as part of the
Operations Preparation Integrated Team (OPIT) of the GEO Division to support following
tasks/areas:

  • Operations of the MSG satellite and validation of operations procedures;
  • Maintenance of the operations procedures, database and special operation instructions for the MSG spacecraft;
  • Commissioning and routine operations as well as participate to the Satellite
  • Operations Engineer on-call service;
  • Ensure that the facility is always fit for its purpose;
  • Maintenance of the MSG series Flight Operation Manuals;
  • Participate in the activities related to the MSG Operations Preparation and also the
  • Routine Operations Support provided by the MSG satellites manufacturer;
  • Analysis and investigation of operational events and anomalies particularly relating to the commissioning and associated ground segment elements;
  • Preparation and production of routine reports and of Operations Preparation documents;
  • Participation in the preparation and specification of system updates;
  • Preparation of technical notes and attendance at technical meetings and reviews;
  • Preparation and presentation of Control Centre Team training;
  • Maintenance of new ground software required for operations;
  • Support the satellite simulator maintenance.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline
  • Several years of professional experience of geostationary spacecraft operations or geostationary satellite operations preparation;
  • Experience with the MSG satellite operations or MSG satellite operations preparation advantageous;
  • Ability to work independently as well as calmly and correctly under stress;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset.
