HE Space Operations is a growing international space company. For over 25 years we have provided our customers with consultancy services in Engineering and Business Administration. As support to a European space company we are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer (Power & Thermal)
Activities
Our customer is a European organisation providing satellite operations and ground station tracking network services to its users. You will be working onsite on Galileo LEOP operations. Your tasks will include:
- Close interaction and working with the other Galileo LEOP SOEs
- Review of documentation produced by the Galileo spacecraft manufacturer
- Review of procedures
- Development of LEOP specific flight operating procedures and contingency recovery procedures using the MOIS tools
- Providing specialist Power & Thermal advice on the development and content of the Operational Database
- Development of tools to manage the Power & Thermal subsystem during LEOP – in particular ANDs, GRDs, mimics and off-line tools
- Validation of procedures using the Galileo Constellation Simulator (CSIM) and the Galileo LEOP specific (SCOS2000 based) control system (L-SCCF)
- Preparation for, and participation in, the SVTs. This will also involve the preparation of SVT specific procedures and the writing of SVT reports
- Identification, recording, investigation and progression of spacecraft and ground-based anomalies during the SVTs, simulations campaign and LEOP
- Preparation for, and participation in, the simulations campaign
- Assistance to the simulations officer to provided specialist Power & Thermal knowledge for the simulations campaign
- Participation in the LEOP. This will involve shift-working to provide 24 hour support to the spacecraft
- Contribution to the post-LEOP report.
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in a relevant discipline
- Several years of professional experience in spacecraft and/or operational applications
- Experience with spacecraft operations highly desirable
- System-mindedness and ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Fluency in English is mandatory; French would be an asset
