Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a Earth Observation Mission Engineer of Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Instrument (IASI)
Activities
Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site in Darmstadt. Tasks will include:
- Support the verification of the IASI data processing system
- Ensure correct calibration of the IASI processors to optimise data products
- Support data analysis activities
- Development of future infrared sounding instruments, the corresponding processing and the definition and optimisation of future products.
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree
- At least 3 years professional experience in satellite earth observation systems
- Knowledge of data processing techniques for infrared sounding instruments
- Experience of testing and validation of EO product production systems
- Detailed knowledge of IASI Level 2 algorithms.
Starting date: August/September 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter
