Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a Instrument Data Processing Engineer

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the Operations Department CCD Instrument Data Processing team. Tasks will include:

  • Support to routine and special operations involving the EPS Front End Processor and Product Generation Facility
  • Support the further development of EPS instrument data processing facilities
  • Participate in instrument data processing activities for MSG and MTP
  • Support the operational preparation for future MetOp spacecraft
  • Participate in the preparation for GMES (Sentinel-3).

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree or equivalent in science or engineering
  • At least 3 years professional experience in satellite remote sensing image handling
  • Ground segment operations for polar orbiting spacecraft
  • Monitoring and reporting on the performance of instrument data processing systems
  • UNIX, Oracle, TCP/IP, IDL, Python, Perl and CCSDS standards
  • Registration and radiometric correction of satellite images
  • Knowledge of atmospheric sounding instrument data handling
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, some knowledge of French would be an asset.
