As support to a European space company we are looking for a Technology Development Manager

Activities

Our customer is a European leader in exciting and technologically sophisticated projects in the area of space transportation and a prime contractor for the Ariane upper stage development and integration. In this challenging role you will contribute to the success of the company, being responsible for Technology Development Management and Technology Systems Engineering. This involves the following activities:

• Technology Development Management
  • Support the establishment of proposals for technology maturation programs
  • Performance of contractual discussions with the customer and subcontractors
  • Organisation of project team contributions, and initiation of the project work
  • Coordination and management of studies and development work
  • Ensure the necessary flow of information and early identification of any problems
  • Identification/implementation of actions to stay within the budget and performance
  • Preparation and performance of reviews and progress meetings with the customer
  • Management of subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of required work
  • Internal reporting, including progress status w.r.t. to work achieved, planning and costs
• Technology System Engineering
  • Analyses of requirements and functions from launcher, stage, and subsystems
  • Establishment of functional analyses with respect to technology requirements
  • Establishment of specifications for technology maturation
  • Review of results and analyses from different technology
  • Analyses, calculations and estimates associated with the upper stage studies.
  • Establishment of technical documents containing the design and analyses results
  • Contribute to the establishment of the technology maturation development plan
  • Verification of documents (internal and external) concerning coherence with each other
  • Presentation of results to customers

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

• University degree or equivalent
• At least 5 years experience in space industry (preferably in technical development disciplines such as propulsion, thermal, mechanical, or design engineering. Experience with cryogenic fluids would be an asset)
• Experience in technology development and maturation
• Team player; experience in multicultural teams
• Fluency in English and German good communication skills
