Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a Meteorological and Climate Monitoring Algorithm Consultant

Activities

Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the Scientific Support team. Tasks will include:

  • Analysis of radiometric, temporal and spatial consistency of satellite products
  • Definition and prototyping of algorithms for the generation of Level 3 products
  • Evaluate results against similar products derived by other Agencies
  • Maintain and expand the MSG-SEVIRI database needed for Level 2 processors
  • Maintain and enhance the end-to-end L2 algorithm prototype environment.

Skills

You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree or equivalent in applied mathematics, science or engineering
  • Strong scientific algorithm development experience
  • Remote sensing data processing experience, e.g. knowledge of HDF
  • EO product validation techniques
  • Software development: FORTRAN, C, C++ under UNIX, OOP, parallel processing
  • Tools: PV-WAVE, IDL
  • Operational Ground Segments
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, some knowledge of French would be an asset.
