Do you want to be part of the space future? As support to a European space organisation we are looking for a Meteorological and Climate Monitoring Algorithm Consultant
Activities
Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working on-site as a member of the Scientific Support team. Tasks will include:
- Analysis of radiometric, temporal and spatial consistency of satellite products
- Definition and prototyping of algorithms for the generation of Level 3 products
- Evaluate results against similar products derived by other Agencies
- Maintain and expand the MSG-SEVIRI database needed for Level 2 processors
- Maintain and enhance the end-to-end L2 algorithm prototype environment.
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree or equivalent in applied mathematics, science or engineering
- Strong scientific algorithm development experience
- Remote sensing data processing experience, e.g. knowledge of HDF
- EO product validation techniques
- Software development: FORTRAN, C, C++ under UNIX, OOP, parallel processing
- Tools: PV-WAVE, IDL
- Operational Ground Segments
- Fluency in English is mandatory, some knowledge of French would be an asset.
