As support to a European space company we are looking for a Payload Integration Engineer.
Activities
Our customer is a European leader in exciting and technologically sophisticated projects in the areas of space transportation and satellites. You will be working on-site in the area of Payload Accommodation and Integration within the integrated Payload Engineering & Operations Integration Team, responsible for the following activities:
- Support to the maintenance of the Interface Control Documents for Payloads in the Columbus Module in close cooperation with the project team.
- Coordination of and support to the payload engineering teams in the areas of analytical and physical integration of new payloads.
- Verification of integrated payload data sets for their later use in the analytical integration on system (Columbus) level.
- Support to ESA C/D payload projects in the frame of design reviews by assessing the interface to the Columbus systems and with respect to requirements on the Columbus system performance
- Contribution to the preparation of test specifications, plans and procedures and review of such documents
- Development and coordination of plans for the preparation and execution of simulations, training, experiments, and for sustaining engineering/engineering support for payloads
- Contribution to the Certification of Flight Readiness of payloads
Skills
You ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- Master in an engineering discipline or equivalent education/experience
- Experiences in performing technical analyses of components, sub systems and their interaction
- Experience in working in an international team
- Experience in project management preferably in the area of payload development for the ISS
- Willingness to adapt to new methods and tools
- Fluency in English is mandatory, German is an asset.
